Building a Wildfire Information Hub for Central Washington

The Challenge


Chelan and Douglas counties face wildfire as a recurring reality, not a rare event. They wanted a single resource for residents to find valuable information, with equal information presented in Spanish.

Resources include links to live evacuation status, guidance organized by evacuation level, health and recovery resources, and a clear way for multiple organizations to funnel their content into one place.

Discovery


Collaborative discovery sessions defined the overall style: Logo / Brand Identity—and shaped a visual direction that could hold both urgency and calm practical guidance within the same system.

Information Architecture for a High-Stakes Audience


The entire site is organized around how residents actually experience a fire—before, during, and after. Live data is woven directly into the experience, with embedded mapping so residents see current conditions without leaving the site.
